Francine Yudell

Francine was born on November 20, 1938, to Philip List and Ida (Charmatz) List in Bronx, New York. Francine grew up in Parkchester and went on to study at Queens College where she received her teaching degree in 1960. Francine met her husband, Gerald, during a summer vacation at a bungalow colony in the Catskills. They were married on March 29, 1959. Eventually, they settled in Harrison, New York, to raise their family, Phyllis, Kenneth and Robert.

Francine had a love for travel. She and Jerry traveled around the world learning about many different cultures. This passion for travel led to Francine becoming a travel agent. She passed this love of travel onto her children after bringing them on numerous adventures, from family car trips to exotic vacations in Japan and Brazil. Her grandchildren still fondly remember their trips to Disneyworld with Grandma Fran.

Francine was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gerald, and her brother, Ira (List). Francine is survived by her loving family – daughter Phyllis and her husband, Craig, two sons, Kenneth and Robert and Robert’s wife Sharon; eight grandchildren, Alyssa, Samantha (Max), Daniel, Jonathan (Maria), Stefanie, Steven, Kimberly and Jason and great granddaughter, Raya.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at 11 a.m. The service will be streamed live for those wishing to attend remotely. The family will sit shiva at Phyllis and Craig’s house in Dix Hills on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. and on Thursday at Kenneth’s house in New Rochelle from 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Information on how to view the funeral service remotely and to reach the family can be obtained by emailing the family at [email protected].
