Helen Norris

Helen Norris, of Eastchester, New York, passed away peacefully at her home in Eastchester. Mrs. Norris (Helen Stella Hecht) was born April 13, 1909 in the Bronx, New York. Her beloved husband of over 60 years, Judge Martin Norris, predeceased her in 1999. Mrs. Norris, lover of opera and classical music, calligrapher, educator and Hebrew tutor of many B’nai Mitzvot at Temple Israel of New Rochelle, is survived by her daughter Barbara, her grandchildren Jeremy, Jesse and Becky, and great-grandchildren Alex and Micah. A woman of impressive intellect, discerning taste, strong personality, and vibrant health for over a century, she will be long remembered by those who knew her. There will be a graveside service held on Friday, April 4, 2014 1:30 PM at Sharon Gardens Cemetery, 273 Lakeview Avenue, Valhalla, New York 10595. Family and friends will be gathering at the Valhalla Crossing Restaurant, 2 Cleveland St., Valhalla NY after the ceremony.
