

Alice Louise Curry, 87 of Mentone, CA passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2015. Alice entered into this life on Friday, June 22, 1928 in Jefferson City, MO, Born to her loving parents, Ervin and Nellye Green. She was born the middle of her six siblings. She was happily married to her loving husband, Robert Curry, for 43 wonderful years. The wife of a former Marine, who was also a former POW for four and one half years, Alice learned to be a strong wife for herself and mother for her family. She was active in the Ex-POW and Disabled American Veterans organizations.
Alice worked for the Hemet Unified School District as an Instructional Aide for over 25 years and was a member and one time officer of the CSEA, Family speak of Alice as a, "feisty, five foot tall, quick witted lady, who loved spending time with her family". Alice was an excellent cook, loved her animals and was gifted with a beautiful singing voice. Bird watching was one of her favorite past times Alice was a faithful member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Hemet CA before she moved to San Bernardino County. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Curry, parents Ervin and Nellye Green, brothers, Lee Green, J.P. Green, Herbert Green, and Victor Green. Alice leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Roberta Mealey and her husband Allen, and Deborah Underwood and her husband David. She is also survived by her sister, Alma Faye Davis of Kansas City, Missouri; and her niece, Sherry Curry Funk of Stansbury, Missouri. Alice is also survived by her grandson, Robert Smith and his wife Heather, of Medford, Oregon and her granddaughter, Amy Underwood of Redlands, California. Alice also leaves behind two great grandchildren, Delainee Smith and Evan Smith of Medford, Oregon. There was no greater joy in Alice's life than her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She cherished every moment she was able to spend with them and was so happy she lived to see Evan's birth in June 2015. She will now be able to watch over and protect them as their guardian angel.
