Alice Lynne McCapes

Alice Lynne McCapes, 75 of Hemet, CA passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2017. She was born on Wednesday, October 29, 1941 in San Diego, CA to Charles and Ellen James. She is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, Arthur McCapes, three children, Jamie (JoAnn) Larsen, Ron (Barb) Larsen, and Tamme (Bradley) Wilkenson, two step-sons, Lin (Micky) and Lyle (Paula) McCapes, two sisters, Jeannette Lee and Dorothy (Bill) Haworth, 12 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.

Alice was an honest, loving and giving person with a larger than life personality. There were no strangers in her life as she made everyone a friend . Alice was also very involved with her community. She was a senior officer in the TOPS weight loss support group where she helped countless individuals and was highly decorated. She was also active in the American Legion, post 53, with her husband, Arthur. Alice never let a moment go to waste. She was a swim instructor, Cub Scout leader, supported Little League, and was a dedicated and very hard-working dance mom. She was a very gifted crafter, and excelled in anything she attempted. She was, also, a master seamstress and loved making jewelry.

Even with all of her dedication to community involvement and hobbies, Alice's most treasured passion was for her family. She loved family game nights, and was so in love with her many grandchildren. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by everyone who had the honor of knowing her.

A memorial service will be held at Miller-Jones Mortuary located at 1501 W Florida Ave. in Hemet on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 1PM, followed by a Celebration of Life at Clubhouse 2 in Sierra Dawn Estates, 161 Santa Paula Hemet, Ca. Interment will take place privately at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, CA.
