Anita grew up in Perris California with her sisters Gloria Oritz, Lillian Ortiz and her brothers, Louie Ortiz and George Ortiz. She married John Andrew Mora at St. James Catholic Church after her junior year at Perris High School where she graduated in 1949. They celebrated the birth of their first child, John Gabriel Mora in 1953 and in 1955 were delighted to welcome daughter, Mary Mora-Cordova. Sadly, Anita was widowed in 1959 on her birthday. She then went to work for the city of Perris where her husband John had worked.
Anita later married Raymond Basquez Sr. and gained two beautiful daughters, Raylene Basquez/Holguin and Natalie Basquez/Duguid. Anita and Raymond welcomed son Raymond Basquez Jr. in 1962 and were blessed with daughter Rita Ann Basquez/Offidani in 1965.
The family moved from Perris to Hemet where Anita worked in the school system as a teachers aide for Special Education children. When she and Raymond moved to Pechanga she worked at the Pechanga Tribal Government Center while raising their two younger children. They frequently visited family and were active in their community until the marriage ended.
In 1989 Anita married Donald Moore of Temecula. Anita was pleased to welcome into her family his adult children, Michael Moore, Nicole Moore/Harrison and daughter Sheri Moore/Stewart. Anita also gained many grandchildren through her step children whom she loved as her own.
Anita made friends wherever she went, was a natural conversationalist and loved going to her weekly weight watchers meetings. She spoke fondly of going off for adventures with her children and grandchildren, and enjoyed knitting and crocheting blankets for new arrivals to the family. She was talented at needlepoint and also crocheted beautiful pineapple tablecloths that were set up with starch. Anita loved to sew, sewing dresses for her girls on special occasions and sewed matching dresses for them on Easter. Anita was a fast student, learning how to use the computer in her later years, keeping up with family on social media and learning the programs to personalize and print out birthday cards for her children and grandchildren. She had calendars to keep track of birthdays, anniversaries and special occasions and until she became ill, she never missed sending one of her personalized cards.
Anita was a warm, loving Mother, Grandmother, Aunt and Friend. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Lillian Ortiz, Gloria Villalovas, and her brother Louis Ortiz, granddaughter, Andrea Mora, and also her daughter of the heart- Natalie Basquez/Duguid.
