

Boyce Edward/Ed Boyer, formerly of San Marcos, died Friday, June 8, 2018 in Hemet, California. He was born to Boyd and Vesta (Schauer) Boyer in Erie, PA, December 2, 1939. After graduating from Ashtabula (OH) High School in 1958, Ed moved to California where he joined family members in the sign making business.
Ed served four years in the United States Air Force.
Over the years he owned different sign companies, including the Comet Sign Company in Escondido and Western Signs Systems in San Marcos.
Ed was active in the Christian community , including a 30 year membership in the Christian Business Men's Fellowship. He was well known to be a man who cared, as he and his wife Harriet assisted many at moments of need.
He loved life and was grateful for the miracle of surviving cancer since 1998. He spent his lasted three years at The Camelot, senior housing in Hemet.
Ed had a positive outlook on life and often entertained with his stories and quick wit. He will be missed by those who survive him, including his son Chris Boyer of San Diego, CA (mother: Virginia/Ginger Christian); children Danielle of TX, Angelique of MO, Jason of Oceanside, CA, and Soshanna of CA (mother: Anna Dee Rivera Gagnon); and Eddie Boyer of TX (mother: Lynne Wilson of Union, MO); his sisters Luanna Hale of Ashtabula, OH, Beulah Waller of Grand Blanc, MI, and Edith/Edie Brewer-Plyer of Linden, MI; many grandchildren, and many cousins.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, wife Harriette (Marsh) Boyer, brother Carl Edward Boyer, former wife Virginia/Ginger Christian Boyer, and step children Andre and Yvonne.
Viewing will be held Thursday, June 24, 4 - 7 pm, at the Miller-Jones Mortuary & Cemetery in Hemet. A private military service will be held at Miramar National Cemetery. Notes and stories can be shared online at http://www.miller-jones.com/
