

Catherine Joan McCauley, passed away on February 26,2015 at Brookdale Senior Living, she was born August 4, 1918 in Ginter PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Andras, and was married to the late Joseph McCauley who passed in 1970. Catherine her husband Joseph and children Joseph and Joan moved to Hemet in 1960 and became involved in the community. She served in the US Army 97th General Hospital as a 1st Lieutenant and a Registered Nurse in England, France and Germany 1944-1945 during WWII. After settling in New York with her family she continued to work as a Registered Nurse until 1960. She carried that experience over to Hemet Valley Hospital when it was a one story facility. Catherine was very active with the Ramona Pageant for 20 years where she would volunteer her time in the first aid station. She was an active member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church for over 20 years also. During her retirement years one of her favorite spots was going to Laughlin and enjoying the casinos. She loved to play Bingo and played in the shuffleboard league in Hemet where she beat the men it was specially rewarding. Catherine loved to be out doors and taking walks to enjoy nature. Her family describes her as caring, gentle. loving, angelic, and wonderful grandmother. Surviving are her two children, Cathy's son Joe McCauley and his wife Jan, and Cathy's daughter Joan Ward and her husband Bill, four grandchildren and eight great grand children.
