Cecilia Amy McLaughlin

Cecilia Amy McLaughlin went to be with the Lord at the age of 93, on Friday, October 30, 2020, in San Jacinto, California. She was born to William and Orelia (Periot) Conant, on Wednesday, July 27, 1927, in Natchitoches, Louisiana; and she was one of 15 children. Cecilia met the love of her life, her best friend, Athens Carl McLaughlin, through a close friend of theirs and have been blessed with 64 years of marriage, before his passing in 2011. They were blessed with 4 children that would later make Cecilia a grandmother and great-grandmother as well. She was an amazing wife and dedicated mother. Cecilia loved to cook and enjoyed conversations with people and learning about their families and talking about her extensive family. She had a love of music and dancing. She loved to travel to visit family all over the country and loved going to the Casino and play the slot machines. She had a special way of expressing herself that brought a lot of laughter and smiles to all of our faces. She was a sweet, kind and generous soul, an "Angel on Earth." Cecilia is survived by her loving children, Athens McLaughlin Jr, James McLaughlin, and Theresa Metoyer; 13 wonderful grandchildren; 19 adoring great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews who all cherished her and her caring sister, Elouise Martin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Athens; and her son, Norman McLaughlin.

A committal service will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at 11:30 AM, at Riverside National Cemetery, located at 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, CA 92518.
