

Charles Donald Brewer was born on Jan 20, 1940 in Bedford Indiana to Taylor and Vera Brewer. He was an only child. After graduating from Bedford High School, he moved to Kentucky and worked for Phillip Morris company, where he met the love of his life Bernice. After they were married, Charles went on to work for Lockheed-Martin as an electrician. He retired from a Management position at Lockheed-Martin in 1995.
Bernice Learh Davis was born to James and Eva Davis on June 29, 1931 in Leitchfield, Kentucky. She was the eldest of 4 siblings. At age 9 she quit going to school because she needed to help raise her younger siblings Eugene, Noel and Adalene after their mother passed away. In 1953, after she gave birth to her first son, Larry, she worked at Phillip Morris company where she met the love of her life, Charles Brewer whom she married on March 22, 1961.
After Charles and Bernice were married, and their son Charles, Jr. was born, they moved to the San Fernando Valley area of Southern California in 1965 and had two more children, Sandra and George. Bernice was a homemaker with a sweet servant’s heart. She is remembered to always put others first and had a selfless love for her kids and grandkids. Charles obtained a degree from ITT technical institute, was part of Civil Air Patrol, and the Masonic Lodge. He retired from Lockheed-Martin in 1995 where he started as a journeyman electrician and worked his way up to a management position over the course of his 30-year career. Charles was a stern father who was proud of his children. He had a real soft spot for his kids and did his best to draw the family together during the holidays.
Charles and Bernice also loved their grandchildren. They raised their granddaughter Nicole until she graduated high school and went out on her own. Charles had a unique bond with Paul, Nicole’s husband, as they were brothers as Freemasons. The Brewer home is remembered by all the grandchildren to be the place where there were always loving welcomes and great snacks and sweets to be had.
Charles and Bernice were married for 58 years until they passed away in 2019. Bernice went home to be with the Lord on June 3, 2019 just 2 days before Charles joined her in eternity on June 5, 2019. They were preceded in death by Bernice’s brothers Eugene and Noel and by their granddaughter Laura.
They are survived by their Children Larry, Charles, Jr., Sandra and George, 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
