Wes was born on September 15, 1926 in Long Beach, California. He was raised in Orange, where he lived until joining the U.S. Navy at age 17. Wes served as a Navy corpsman for 3 years during WWII on Midway Island. He later enjoyed a long career at Rockwell International until his retirement in 1985.
Wes's family includes a son, Ray Pigott and five daughters, Pat Viscosi (Ron), Trudy Maas (Cleve), Linda Mashek (Mike), Gloria Hart (Jim) and Sandy Overly (Mike). He also was a loving grandfather to 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Wes stayed active while raising a family with softball and bowling. He also enjoyed playing card games (when he was winning) with his family. Golfing and working on his model railroad were his passions for most of his adult life.
An avid Angel's fan, Wes attended his first game in Los Angeles in 1961 and followed them through TV, radio and at Anaheim home games when possible. His memory of player stats through the years was remarkable. He attended his last home game on April 12, 2015 with four generations. Wes Triplett will be remembered as a man of integrity that never wavered on his commitment to family while teaching us the virtue of patience.
A memorial service will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 11th at Miller-Jones Mortuary - Sun City located at 26770 Murrieta Road Sun City. Interment will be in Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, California.
