

Clement Joe Johnston was born in Lula, Oklahoma on January 9, 1930. He passed away
August 22, 2019 at the age of 89 in Menifee, CA. He was the youngest of 6 children
having had 3 brothers and 2 sisters. He came to California as a young man and was most
recently a resident of Hemet, CA.
Clement was an Army Veteran, serving as an Equipment Mechanic during the Korean War. He
also served in the Army Reserve. He married in 1954. Clement had several careers during his
life, including working as an auto mechanic, working for Riverside County Road Dept., and
owning and operating two successful small businesses (trash disposal and an auto repair shop).
Most of his work history was in Anza, CA where he and his family lived for many years.
Clement was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Trudy Johnston. He is survived by his
daughters, Ginger Andrews (son-in-law Tim) of Hemet, CA; Pamela Johnston of Hemet, CA;
Sherry Russo (son-in-law Lewis) of Menifee, CA; and grandson, Daniel Russo (grand-daughter-
in-law Hannah) of Menifee, CA. He is also survived by 4 nieces and 2 nephews. Clement will
be greatly missed by family and friends.
The Graveside service and Burial will be on Friday, September 13, 2019 at 10:31 a.m. at
Riverside National Cemetery. A Memorial service will be on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at
11:00 a.m. at City Reach Church Murrieta, 38436 Innovation Court, #101, Murrieta, CA 92563.
