

Edward Melvin Hart, 84 of Murrieta, California died on Thursday, May 7, 2015.
Born Monday, June 2, 1930 in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Michael Hart and the late Helen Corbett Hart. He was the husband of Mary Jo Hart.
Ed was a Commander in the Navy and served from 1948 until 1981. He was a Veteran of Korea, and Vietnam. He was proud of his service and also proud to serve on the City of Murrieta Veterans Memorial Committee.
The Navy was his second home and he loved reading, especially Navy periodicals and books. His other hobbies included travel, sports especially baseball, golf, and basketball. Ed also enjoyed bowling with his wife for many years on a league, and he loved to golf and was Past-President 2 years for The Colony Men's Golf Club.
Ed was a caring, generous family-man, who was proud of his family, especially the grandchildren who adored him. He loved spending Thanksgiving and Christmas with his family; giving thanks for all their blessings. He was known as a "hugger" and he always hugged the ladies. Ed always had a Navy Commander demeanor but a soft heart and was known for his honesty and loyalty. He made friends easily and kept them as friends forever. He had a great sense of humor, and loved telling jokes.
One of his favorite sayings was by George Burns "If I had known I would live so long, I would have taken better care of myself." Ed will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving are his wife Mary Jo; sons, Michael, and Kevin; daughter, Pamela Torribio; Step-children, Mark Hanna, Kimberlee Nichols, and Lisa Marak; brothers, George, Donald, and Laurence Hart; sisters, Michelle Hart and Debra Nelson. 11 Grandchildren: Dustin Hellenger; Shannon Gross; Shea Hart, Joey Hart, Jonathon Hanna, Kristin Hanna, Kaitlyn Nichols, Jeffrey Nichols, Shannon Nichols, Justin Marak, and Ashley Marak; and 1 Great Grandson, Jacob Gross.
Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Ft Myer, Arlington, VA.
