1954 - 2015 Darrell Wayne Nicholson
Darrell Wayne Nicholson "Nick" was born April 11, 1954 at Camp Pendleton, Oceanside, CA, to Floyd and Dorothy Nicholson. His father was a U.S. Marine so they moved frequently. Darrell would group up alongside his older sister in North Carolina, Chicago, Glenview Naval Air Station, ILL, Missouri, and California.
His parents were Christians so they gathered many friends in churches as they moved about the country. Darrell graduated from Vista High School and attended California Baptist University. While there he met Jan. They dated for a while then went their own ways.
Darrell worked several jobs but like driving trucks most of all. He drove long haul 18-wheelers all across the country. He loved watching the scenery of mountains and hills as he drove. He went to live in Hemet, CA to help his mother and father when they needed care. Darrell enjoyed his church where he did the music for services and drove the bus for kids who went to summer camp.
In 2008 Darrell and Jan reunited their friendship and were married February 15, 2009. He adored Jan who kept the home fires burning while he was on the road. In 2014 he began to have health problems. On February 21, 2015, after a valiant fight against cancer, Darrell went into the loving arms of his Heavenly Father as his wife read him passages of Psalms.
Darrell liked to ride motorcycles, travel and grow in his Christian Faith. He always had a great sense of humor enjoyed by his family and friends. He loved to spent time with his nieces and nephews, always on board at holidays as they grew up.
Darrell is survived by his wife Jan Nicholson, his sister & brother-in-law Diana and Lou Saenger, stepdaughter April Pendergraft, nieces Amber & Crystal, nephew Ken & wife Kim, grandnephew Justin, grandnephew Kenny, grandniece Ashley, and aunts and uncles in Oklahoma and Michigan. He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
