Watching the photo link brought tears to my eyes and a smile to my heart with so many memories. Aunt Diane was always there for me with arms wide open for a hug when I needed it the most. So many memories of the house in Torrance, visits to Vegas, going to Lake Mead, coming back to Indy spending time with Kristina in the hotel pool and so many more. Our girls are together with Jesus in Heaven, Welcome Home Aunt Diane WELCOME HOME !!!!!!!

One of the most anticipate events of childhood was when our relatives would visit during the summer. I remember one visit in particular because it happened to coincide with my birthday. I was a very young boy so naturally there was a birthday celebration. It was a very exciting day for me. Later that night when I was tucked in bed and just about ready for sleep I suddenly heard a soft knock upon my bedroom door and in peeked Aunt Diane. She smiled, walked in and sat on the edge of my bed. She looked down at me and gently asked if I liked the gift I received. I liked the gift very much and told her so. She smiled again and said “Happy Birthday” and gently kissed me on the forehead. I remember thinking her very good and kind. And that opinion never changed. - Michael Johnson, nephew.

As children, Aunt Diane kept us supplied with band-aids for stubbed toes, chewing gum for parched throats, and loose change for the bubble gum machine, all found in the depths of her enormous, amazing purse. Aunt Diane Memory:

My remembrance is a recent one from Uncle Art & Aunt Barb's Anniversary/Reunion a couple of years ago in Massachusetts.  Aunt Diane was looking at my mother (Nancy), who was standing in front of me.  Suddenly, I could see her eyes clear, like a cloud had been lifted and she smiled beautifully, saying "Nancy".  I was so happy to be there at that moment in time to experience it.

I personally will remember her as one of the kindest people I have ever meant.

A memory of Diane by Barbara Eve:
Let me tell you a story of one of the many ways I want to remember Diane, my sister-in-law.  It takes place in 1964.  Ron, Nancy, Wayne, Diane, Art and I (plus our combined seven young children) were visiting "Grandpa Maxwell" In Oak forest, Illinois at the Cook County Old Peoples Home.  A sudden rainstorm broke up our visit.  Diane and I pushed Grandpa Maxwell's wheelchair back into the safety of his building while everyone else made a dash for our cars.  Once Diane and I had completed our mission, then it was our turn to dash for the cars.  We did this while running and laughing at the same time.  I remember her laugh: it was a low-pitched giggle, it was carefree, it was fun, it was a special moment we shared!

So many memories, yearly summer visits, spending time at Lake Mead with the kids water skiing  and fishing, our vacation to San Fransisco and Sacramento Delta. Good times with close friends. Diane, you will always be in my heart. Love to the family.

I have a lots of memories with Diane and Wayne  and our many Indian Guide trips.   I can imagine Diane and Jim up in heaven teaching everyone the Indian Guide war whoop.  :heart_eyes:  :heart:
