

He met the love of his life, it was love at first sight, Maxine Lemons in Willowbrook, CA, in 1946, where they married and had two boys Dewayne and Randy. After his discharge, they packed up the car and moved to Springfield, Missouri, at attend Central Bible Institute to fulfill the call on their lives to become a minister with the Assemblies of God. He got his degree, (Maxine typed every single report for all his classes) and pastored in Branson, Strafford, and Joplin Missouri and had their daughter Karen.
The journey continued to a small church in Arroyo Grande, CA in 1957, and stayed there three years and had their daughter Robyn in 1960. Anaheim was their next stop at another small church "Town Church" and stayed there 19 years, when they wanted to retire, they thought Pismo Beach would be a perfect place, so they built a home, but retirement was not for them. They moved back to Anaheim/Orange. He was called to serve, so he became a Consultant and Executive Assistant at the SoCal Network Assemblies of God for 22 years. He finally retired at 84 years. His final years at home were filled with love, family and church at Elsinore First Assembly. They were married a wonderful 67 years.
He was preceded in death by their son Dorman Dewayne Buttram. He is survived by his wife E. Maxine Buttram, son Randy Buttram, daughters Karen Robles and Robyn Galland, son-in-laws Frank Robles and Britt Galland, grand children Jocelyn and Ron Eisenhour, Christopher and Karis Hunsicker, Rikki Robles, Evan, Brittany and Brenda Galland, great grand children Malia Hunsicker, Olivia Hunsicker and Lauren Eisenhour.
He will be deeply missed, He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.
