

Ernesto “Ernie” M. Alaniz (Garcia) “Tito” Ernesto Manuel Alaniz passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 18, 2011, with his family by his side. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Dolores Garcia Alaniz. They would have celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary on July 22nd of this year! He was a devoted father of 2 daughters, Maria-Dolores "Mia" Flanders (husband, Scott) and Christine R. Stubblefield (husband, Dale), and 1 son, Ernesto J. Alaniz (wife, Anna). He was an adoring and proud Grandfather “Tata” to a “six-pack” of grandsons ranging in ages from 6 to 19 years. Other friends and family have known him as simply “Tito.” Ernesto was born to McClovio and Elena Alaniz on August 5, 1938, in Zacatecas, Zac., Mex. He is preceded in death by four sisters, four brothers, his parents, and is survived by three remaining siblings: brother, Angel H. Alaniz, sisters, Teresa Gonzalez and Aurora Rousset. Ernie grew up in Santa Ana, California, but he and Dolores have spent the last 34 years calling the City of San Jacinto their home as well as the place where they had established “Garcia’s Market” on Main Street. Ernie worked for Excelsior Creamery in Santa Ana for eight years before finding his dream job working for the next 40 years for Disneyland in the Roundhouse with the steam locomotives, where he was also a member of the Operating Engineers Local 501. The family will start receiving friends at 4:00 PM for a Rosary Service starting at 7:00 PM, Friday, February 25, at McWane Family Funeral Home, 350 N. San Jacinto Ave., Hemet, CA 92543 – (951) 658-9497. A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:00 AM, Saturday, February 26th at St. Anthony's Catholic Church 630 S. Santa Fe St., San Jacinto, CA 92583, with graveside services following at Menifee Valley Memorial Park, 26770 Murrieta Rd., Sun City, CA 92585 -- (951) 672-6579.
