

Frank Castillo Castro went to be with his Lord peacefully in his sleep on March 3, 2011. He battled the long illness of dementia for 16 years. He was born on January 29, 1926, in Pomona, California. He is the beloved husband of Erlinda Rizo Castro of 60 years of Hemet and loving father of Claudia Perez Garcia (William) of San Jacinto, Gerald F. Castro (Katrina) of San Jacinto and cherished grandfather of Johnny Jr. Perez of Rancho Cucamonga and William Garcia Jr. of Palm Desert and great grandfather of Alyssa N. Perez, Johnny J. Perez and Julian Garcia. He was the son of the late Vicente and Antonia Castro, brother of Raymond Castro, Pomona, Jesse Castro of Mira Loma Gloria Angula of Hemet and Benita Ramirez of Pomona. He is predeceased by his 5 siblings, Ralph Castro, Fortino Castro, Nancy Moreno, Kate Navarro and Carmen Rodriguez.
Frank attended Pomona schools. He worked at a young age picking fruit and vegetables in the central California along with his family. He loved to dance. In March of 1949 he met the love of his life, Erlinda Rizo, at the Pomona Armory Hall.
Frank and Erlinda married on January 27, 1951. In May 1952, he was drafted into the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was stationed in Germany where he worked as a supply clerk. In May 1954, he was honorably discharged from military service.
Upon his return home, he became a carpenter framer and joined the Carpenters Local Union No. 409. He was employed for thirty years as he framed homes throughout Southern California. Frank became interested in real estate and along with his wife, Erlinda, brought many rental properties. He and his family enjoyed travel through many areas of Mexico. They took three different cruises and many trips to Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe, and a trip to Hawaii to visit Pearl Harbor. In 2003, Frank and Erlinda moved from Pomona to Hemet to be closer to their children.
Frank was enrolled in the "Daybreak Adult Day Care Center" in Hemet for Alzheimer's and Dementia program, where he was a student for six years. In lieu of flowers, please submit donations to "Daybreak Adult Day Service" in Hemet, telephone number 951-791-3556.
