Frank Eugene Worthington

Frank Eugene Worthington, age 91, of La Mirada, CA passed away peacefully on Monday, July 30, 2012. He was born Saturday, January 1, 1921 in Newcomerstown, Ohio to Frank and Lena Worthington. Frank proudly served our country during World War II in the United States Army. He was a postal carrier for 27 years. Frank enjoyed traveling, leisurely picnics with his family and eating out at his favorite restaurant, Emilio’s. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed growing flowers as well as large pumpkin, watermelon and cantaloupe. Frank was a wonderfully caring man with a kind spirit about him. He spoke fluent Mandarin and conversed with his doctor in his native language. Frank is preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Worthington; his son, Mike Selway; his sister, Evelyn Cronin; and his brothers, Gary and Donald Worthington. Frank is survived by his devoted wife, Lillian Worthington; his sister Marlena “Cookie” Bird and her husband Tom; his brother Dr. Lowell Worthington; his daughter-in-law, Kay Selway; and his grandchildren, Derrick and Leah. Graveside services will begin at 10:01 am on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, CA 92518.
