Gertrude Helen Williams

Gertrude Helen Williams was born on November 15, 1939 to the late Howard T. and Mary Elizabeth Williams in Baltimore, MD. On July 19, 2017, Gertrude H. Williams , after a short illness peacefully departed this life surrounded by her family.

Gertrude Williams received her early education in the Virginia School district and later went on to receive her Associate Degree along with a Bachelor's Degree that prepared her for various promotions with the County of Los Angeles. Her first position was a Probationary Aide in the late 1960's, where she received extensive

training in suicide prevention, group supervision and narcotics specialist training. later she would be promoted to a Senior Community Worker were she assisted with newly developed community programs, expanded child care facilities, training programs, self improvement programs, helping isolated probationers become involved in community programs and activities. Gertrude Williams retired from The County of Los Angeles after 26 years of service

During a political rally in 1973, she met Albert Lewis Williams. Al made sure Gertrude would call him, by writing his phone number in the palm of her hand and on

May 22, 1977 , they were married , sharing 40 years together. Al and Gertrude took on many adventures. Traveling from West Coast to the East Coast enjoying family and friends along the way.

She was proceeded in death by a son Tyrone R. Bundley and one brother Thomas William.

Gertrude H. Williams leaves to cherish in her memory, her husband Albert L. Williams, Three daughter's Tami Smith - Monette (Shon) , Victorville, Ca, Terri Stokes, Wilmington, DE, Shelia Bundley, Riverside Ca , one son Tyrone R. Bundley (Decrease) two step daughter's Joyce Poston (Larry) Fontana, Ca , and Jan Dow ( Jeff ) Palmdale Ca four brothers Earl Williams ( Kathryn) Yeadon, Pa, Freddy Williams (Grace) Yeadon, Pa Theodore Williams ( Roxanne) Two sisters Florence Tucker Philadelphia, Pa and Carolyn Bluford ( Norman) 18 grandchildren , 9 great children and a host of family and friends.
