

Gregory Martin Williams Sr. was born on September 19, 1956 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Charles & Ada Williams Sr. At the age of ten, the family moved to Watts, California and later moved to Compton, California where he eventually graduated from Compton High School in 1975 and then went on to complete two years at Compton College.
He met the love of his life, Jacquelyn Lowden in 1981 and tied the knot in 1986 sharing over 33 loving years together raising three beautiful children. Not long after, Gregory entered the Military where he served 20 dedicated years in the Navy. He was known as “Will” to his Military friends and received countless awards and accolades before retiring in 2006. To name a few:
February 6, 1997 – Fleet Training Center in San Diego as an Auxiliary Boiler Operator.
August 8, 1997 – Distilling Plant Operator.
June 16, 2002 – Naval Training Center in Great Lakes, IL for Cargo, Weapons, Elevator Maintenance School.
September 23, 2004 – Engineering Maintenance Principles.
October 26, 2004 – Oil Pollution Abatement
2004 – Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
He was passionate about Sports and music and enjoyed all that life had to offer. Many who knew Gregory Sr. would say he was a diehard “Sports Fanatic”, as he loved his teams, Raiders, Dodgers and Lakers! He loved making jokes and never met a stranger as he was friendly to all.
Gregory Williams Sr. went to be with the Lord on May 12, 2019 at 1:30 a.m. and will be deeply missed by all who loved him. He leaves behind his loving wife, Jacquelyn Lowden Williams and three children Julian Williams (Natalia Ealy), Iyahna Williams (Kevin Ocampo Sr.), Gregory Williams Jr., his nephew, Isaiah Lowden that he raised as his own son, his adorable grandchildren Xavier A. Ocampo-Williams, Kevin R. Ocampo-Williams, Adrian Samuel Ocampo, and Julianna Williams.
His siblings Charles Williams (Carol) Sr., Sharon Williams, Christopher Williams, David Williams Sr. and a host of nieces and nephews.
Gregory Sr. was a dedicated husband, father, brother, grandfather, friend and last but not least, a dedicated Navy man.
Viewing & Services will be on Friday, June 7, 2019 11:00 am to 1:00 pm located at Miller-Jones Mortuary, 1835 N Perris Blvd, Perris, California.
Military Funeral Honors to follow at 2:00 pm at Riverside National Cemetery located at 22495 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, California 92518.
Repast at 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm located at Miller-Jones Mortuary, 1835 N Perris Blvd, Perris, California banquet room and courtyard.
