Helen Eileen Kraemer (nee King) died peacefully in Hemet, CA on January 30, 2025. She was 94 years old. Born on October 24, 1930 in Philadelphia, PA, Helen was the oldest daughter of Lester and Helen King (nee McNichol) and sister of Virginia. She attended Beaver College in Pennsylvania, and then met her husband, George T. Kraemer in Ocean City, New Jersey. Ocean City would become a regular vacation spot for Helen and her extended family for the next 40 years.
After several company moves in the northeast, Helen and George settled in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, where she and George raised five children. She had many interests, including reading, cooking, crocheting, gardening, and art. Helen was knowledgeable about many subjects, and loved conversing with people about them. She was also generous with everyone, whether they were family, friends, or someone she just met. Helen spent much of her life caring for others and is remembered for the joy and laughter she shared with so many, especially her family. After George died in 1995, she moved first to Louisville, KY and then to Hemet, CA, to be near family.
Helen is pre-deceased by her late husband, George, and her youngest son David. She is survived by her daughter Michal Holmes (Stephen Smith), son Mark (Jayne), daughter Deborah (Jacob Tebes), son Matthew (Debora), and daughter-in-law Lisa Sutton (Paul), as well as 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on April 4 at Community Christian Church, 41762 Stetson Avenue, Hemet, CA. A private internment next to her late husband will take place this August in Cherry Hill, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be sent to Hospice of the Valleys, 25240 Hancock Avenue, Suite 120, Murrieta, CA 92562.
