I-Hsiung Chen

Dr. I-Hsiung Chen of Hemet, California, passed peacefully at the age of 75 on December 7th, 2019 in Murrieta, California. Dr. I-H Chen was beloved and respected by his family, friends and colleagues for living his life with dignity, deep intelligence, fun loving, and humor. Dr. I-H Chen is survived by his wife Woan-Ru (“Ruth”) Chen, sons Michael (& Sandra), Steven (& Su-Lynn), and James (& Michelle), grandchildren Madeleine and Parker, mother Ah-Hsieh, brother I-How, sisters Ai-Lan, and Kiku, and nieces and nephews.

Dr. I-Hsiung Chen graduated from Taipei Medical School in 1969 and began residency and training in Taiwan and U.S. thereafter. Dr. I-H Chen healed a great many lives practicing as an Internal Medicine doctor over 40 years retiring in 2015 devoting the majority of his career to his patients of the Hemet community and surrounding areas.

In his personal time he enjoyed karaoke with friends and acquaintances, he liked to keep his mind sharp with Chinese chess and the Chinese game of Go.

We are thankful for the caregivers at The Springs Healthcare Center for assisting in the care of Dr. I-H Chen at the time of his passing. We appreciate the help of Miller-Jones Mortuary in assisting the family with the memorial services.
