Jim Petri was born to Edwin and Clara Petri of Marinette, Wisconsin, in the summer of 1931. Edwin and Clara had five children, four sons and one daughter, all of whom embraced the same faith that their parents embraced, and walked in the light of that faith to direct their steps all their days.
Jim is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joan Petri; his brother and sister-in-law, Don and Edna Petri of Klamath Falls, Oregon; his son and daughter-in-law, David and Lorinda Petri of Alpine, CA; his son, Steve Petri of Lakeside, CA; four grandchildren, Layne Bone and her husband Justin Bone, Kent Petri, Briena Petri and Seth Petri; one great-grandchild, Dylan Bone; and several nieces and nephews who held very special places in his heart.
Jim enjoyed growing cactus, good-natured teasing, ice cream, whistling and good western novels, but the cornerstone of Jim's life was God's son, Jesus, and as age and health marked Jim's physical body, he found such joy in the words of God that were not just words written on pages of white ... but had for years become living promises that Jim is enjoying in their fullness today.
