Mr. James Thomas Spradlin, 74 of Hemet, California passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2012, at home in Hemet, California. He was born on Saturday, May 14, 1938 in Longview, Texas. James was a fisherman at heart. When ever there was time, he would grab his favorite fishing pole, a cooler of Budweiser and head to the lake. James worked as a Park Ranger at Lake Skinner for over 15 years and loved the out doors. He took his family camping, loved to garden and grow tomatoes, zucchini and peppers. He also liked to gamble and was known to take trips with his family to Laughlin and locally to Soboba Casino. His family describes him as fun, strong and lovable with a magnetic personality. James also was a little ornery at times but that's what made him so unique and special. Surviving is his companion Doris Jones, sons, Robert and James Spradlin, daughters, Lara Spradlin, Lena Woods, Tammy Bryce and Lana Amaya, brother, Billy Spradlin, sister, Minnette Hardiman; 20 grand children; 4 great grand children. All extremely loved but too high in number to list are various nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family wishes to express special thanks to nephew John Cordova and close personal friend Tim Tupper for being there for James so often in the past few years, hanging out, making him laugh, running his errands, getting him to appointments and overall just being great friends. We know he appreciated it!
