James Melvin Turner , age 85, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Wednesday, September 12, 2012. Jim was born in Guthrie Center, Iowa on Saturday, May 7, 1927 to James and Verda Turner. He was an assembly-line supervisor in the Aerospace profession for about 35 years. Jim loved flying and would spend his Saturday’s with his friend Jerry enjoying his flying passion. He also loved the water and boating whenever he could. Jim married his beloved Dorothy Rita Hanlon on Sunday, December 31, 1961. Jim is survived by his devoted wife of more than 51 years, Dorothy Turner; his sons Greg(Heba) Mason Turner and William James Turner Sr.; grandsons, William James Turner, Jr. and Cameron James Turner; and his sister, Rebecca Weiss. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Dale Turner and Myron Turner. Jim touched many lives and will be truly missed by all those who were honored to know him and who loved him…
