Joanne Smith

Born March 9, 1934 in Walker, Minnesota. Joanne was the first child of Olaus and Maxine (Sarff) Coffron. Joanne spent her childhood in Minnesota and Idaho and graduated from Walker High School.

In 1954 Joanne married her college sweetheart Garry Smith. They had five children.

Joanne loved being a mom. She also had three jobs outside of her home. Joanne worked at the Rawlins hospital, she was a secretary at Mountain View Elementary school and a bank teller when her family lived in Rawlins, Wyoming. Joanne baked delicious treats and shared her recipes and enjoyed golfing, fishing and camping with her family.

Joanne is survived by her children: Allen Smith, Lake, Benton, MN.; Deonne Smith, Cheyenne, WY.; Michael Smith (Kristi), Banning, CA.; Lori, Jo Roberts (Lynn), Riverton, WY.; and Annie Mann (Michael), Rawlings, WY.

Joanne is also survived by three sisters: Rosemary Svendgaard, Omaha, NB.; Julie Williams, White Bear Lake, MN.; And Vicki Nelson, Grand Rapids, MN.; As well as by 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, as well as two infant half brothers: Morris Spanton, Jr. and Olaus Gene Coffron.

Burial will be in Walker, Minnesota at a later date.
