Joe "JL" Salazar

Joe "JL" Salazar, 67 of Hemet, CA passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2016. He was born on Monday, June 28, 1948 in Somerton AZ. He was lovingly raised by Miguel Sanchez-Guevara and Maria Salazar. Joe is survived by his loving life partner of over 20 years, Diane Bellinger, the mother of his children to whom he was married for 22 years, Faye Salazar, four children, Anna Salazar-Reed, Richard Salazar, Joseph Salazar, and Sylvia (Dan) Renfroe, two brothers, Manuel (Carol) Salazar and Johnny (Joann) Guevara, two sisters, Margaret (Juan) Gonzales and Edna (Aurelio) Corona, and 4 grandchildren, Caleb, Marissa, Lola and Jack. Joe was preceded in death by his brother, Frank "Pancho" Guevara and sister, Maria Guevara.

Joe was a big-hearted family man who loved to cook and BBQ for his whole family. He was very generous with his time and heart. Joe loved the outdoors. He loved to take trips to the Colorado River and spent as much time outdoors as possible. He also participated in coordinating the annual Temecula Tractor Races and raced his Tractor as well.

Joe was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by everyone who had the honor of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the St. Labre Indian School in Ashland, Montana in Joe's name.
