

John Walter Leonhart, age 73, of Perris,California entered eternal life on Sunday, March 7,2021. He was born on December 14,1947 to his late parents Bud and Betty Leonhart in Ithaca, New York. John was very proud to have served a tour of duty aboard the U.S.S. Kittyhawk with the United States Navy. It was during this time that he began to hone his mechanical skills that would lead him to his career as a Pump Mechanic with the Orange County Sanitation Department. John enjoyed watching old western movies and was an avid hunter. His hobbies included trap and target shooting as well as Go Kart racing.He was a member of SoCal Oval Karters and made many fond memories on the dirt track. John volunteered many hours of his time over the years with Mike Raahauge Shooting Enterprises as well as at his church, Trinity Lutheran in Whittier, California.
John was preceded in death by his father Bud Leonhart and his mother, Betty Leonhart. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sandy, his daughter Evonne and her husband Marc, his son Scott and his wife Jennifer, his grandchildren Preston and Hannah, and his brother Jeffrey. He is also survived by his furry children Lucky, Pepper and Peanut.

Johns Memorial service will be held on Saturday March 20, 2021 at 1:00 at Menifee Valley Memorial Park located at 26770 Murrieta Road, Menifee, CA 92585.
