Joseph William Kavanagh Sr. passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 in Sun City, California; he was born on August 18, 1939 in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada to the late William and Anne (MacInnis) Kavanagh.
Joseph work as an Union Iron Working for 50 years; enjoyed playing the guitar, in fact in 1967, he opened at the Armory with the Rolling Stones.
He is survived by his loving wife, Eleanor; his children, Carolyn Kavanagh, Karen Kavanagh, Joanne Oldenburg and Joseph Kavanagh, Jr.; his siblings, Marie Lawless, Dolores Stuart, Evelyn Phillips, Cecilia Ouimette and Gerald Kavanagh; and his grandchildren, Alex Erin Sewelson, Cole Eklund and Samantha Dominguez.
There will be a memorial mass on Friday, September 25, 2015 at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church in Sun City.
