Kan Dai

Kan Dai was born in Zhejiang, China on March 22, 1929 to Xia Dai and Zhibai Zhao. Kan Dai was married to Guangjian Li in 1951 with three daughters. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She dedicated to all family members with deeply love, care and support. She enjoyed family activities and friend reunions. She enjoyed reading, traveling and computer. She was a devoted Christian and a member in Living Water Bible Church in San Diego and Chinese Evangelical Church in Hillsboro, Oregon.

Kan Dai graduated from Peking University in Beijing China in 1951. She worked as an English interpreter and translator in the Chinese Commission of Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries for over 20 years and a Research Fellow at Beijing Normal University and Chinese Academy of Social Sciences for over 20 years. She was a well known translator in China. She had translated a number of English books into Chinese, including "Gone with Wind" by Margaret Mitchell, "Jane Eyre" by Charlotte Brontë, "Woman in White" by Wilkie Collins, "Love is Eternal" by Irving Stone and "East Lynne" by Henry Wood, etc.

Kan Dai was preceded in death by father Xia Dai, mother Zhibai Zhao, sisters Wei Dai, Jun Dai, Tang Dai, daughter Xiaoya Li and husband Guangjian Li.

Kan Dai is survived by brother Lun Dai, daughters Xiaoyin Li and Xiaoli Li, son in law Dennis Halseth, grandchildren Lilly Willis, Chen Gui, and grandson in law Neil Willis.

Kan Dai touched many lives and will be truly missed by all those who were honored to know her and loved her.
