Karen Byrd

Karen Louise (McQuiston) Byrd, 79, of Hemet California passed away on May 17, 2021. She was born July 3, 1941 to Paul and Monelle (Dawson) McQuiston. Originally from Greentown Indiana, Karen was a graduate of Eastern High School in Greentown and University of LaVerne in California. She worked as a Computer Operations Supervisor for the Covina Valley School District for forty years. Karen also helped to oversee construction projects for the district at the end of her career. She is survived by her brothers Kent (Donna) McQuiston of Johnson City, Tennessee, Kirk (Susan) McQuiston of Lowell, Indiana, Kyle (Karen) McQuiston of Shawnee, Kansas, nieces Monica (Jeffery) Reynolds and Katherine (Tony) Giordano, nephews Andrew McQuiston, Benjamin (Lauren) McQuiston, Alex (Veronica) McQuiston, Nicholas (Dora Cohen) McQuiston, Christopher McQuiston, and Zachary McQuiston, ten great nieces and nephews, a great great-niece and a great great-nephew. She is also survived by special friend Barbara Patterson. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, brother Kon McQuiston and nephew Matthew McQuiston. Karen retired to Four Seasons in Hemet in 2004 where she enjoyed golf, bridge, and bingo, and traveling with many friends.
