Kazue Brown

Kazue was a young bride and married Todd Julius Brown in 1958. The following year the young couple travelled across the Pacific Ocean to California a year later in 1959. They settled into a new home in Moreno Valley, California. Kazue remained a devoted and attentive wife to her loving husband until he preceded her in death.

Kazue meticulously decorated her home with distinct interior accents and furnishings. She transformed her backyard as an avid gardener with flowers and vegetables. Her garden yielded annual bounty of eggplant, zucchini and tomatoes that she shared with friends.

Kazue was a quiet woman of strength and she truly enjoyed her private circle of friends. These ladies maintained a friendship circle that lasted for over 40 years and included daily lunches, monthly shopping at their favorite grocery stores and celebrating birthdays, thanksgiving, Christmas and annual New Year’s Shogatsy celebrating together. These ladies started one of the original virtual book clubs by watching Japanese movies and discussing current events.

Kazue was a dedicated civilian employee working at March Airforce Base in food services. Her strong work ethic and self-disciplined helped her to be an early riser, starting her day at 3:30 am to arrive at work and fulfill her duties.

Also as an advocate of health, Kazue maintained her health and fitness with daily walks and gardening. Her interest included hidden talents as a seamstress and accomplished dressmaker. Later in life she was fortunate to have the lasting friendship and caretaker support from Calvin and Kimi Brown who compassionately attended to her needs and allowing her to remain in her home, and they cared for her cats.

Kazue peacefully succumbed to her illness on September 29, 2020. In her final days, she communicated one word to everyone “Arigato” translated means “Thank you”

Kazue leaves behind her loving niece Junko and remaining circle of friends Calvin and Kimi Brown, Bob and Fumie Bottoms, Chicako Fitts and Yoko Ohara.
