

Kenneth was born on January 16, 1931 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Nakata and Haru Sekiguchi. He attended the University of Hawaii and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in 1953. On November 28, 1953, he married the love of his life, Alice Tanji (deceased). He served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955 at Fort Bliss in Texas, as a First Lieutenant. After his service, they moved to Los Angeles, California, where he worked as a Civil Engineer for several years. Later, Kenneth graduated from the University of Southern California Dental School and practiced Dentistry for over 30 years in Gardena, California. They raised two children, Ken (deceased) and Sharon. Kenneth loved to garden and enjoyed growing various fruits and vegetables in his backyard. He took special care with his tomatoes and would make homemade ketchup and tomato sauce. He and Alice were avid runners and they ran the Honolulu and Los Angeles Marathons many times. Kenneth enjoyed watching classic movies and television shows. He also liked to watch sports, especially baseball and football. Most of all, Kenneth loved his grandson, Aidan.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers and sisters, his wife, Alice, and his son, Ken. He is survived by his daughter, Sharon, and grandson, Aidan.
Kenneth and Alice wished to be buried together at the same time. To honor their wishes, a Memorial Service for both Kenneth and Alice will be held at the Miller-Jones Mortuary Chapel in Sun City, California on Saturday, February 2, 2019.
