Larry
I've known Larry ever since the second grade. He was always happy and kind to everyone. I remember that afterschool, Larry and I would always play soldiers, think of stories, and act them out.  He had a creative mind, and was always fun to be around. Class was a blast with him. I lost touch with him after fifth, but not a day went by when I thought of the fun times afterschool. It was hard to hear of the passing, and my condolenses go out to the family. He was a good kid, and one of my good friends. Part of my Elementary memories are thanks to him. He will be missed. "Larry, I love you buddy." -Christian Simbala

I remember Larry as a great guy, friend, brother, and son. I had the honor of meeting such a great guy. I had him in my class for 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and same school up to 7th that’s when I move to the school next to where I went which was MSA 5 last time I saw him I was in 8th around the end of the school year and I told him good luck bikini bottom he smiled and said good luck to you waldo then we said good bye I would see him once a while then I stop seeing him because I was busy until two days ago I found out that he was in the tigers marching band and I was so happy I was going to play vs. him because I am in the Hollywood marching band but that’s when they told me what happen. i hope you can hear me from up there and Hollywood marching band hopes you don’t stop playing up there keep rocking it and what we to when we have to say good bye

Larry always greeted me with the warmest of smiles. We spent some days together outside in the skatepark. He would always joke with me that he wanted to learn how to ride a skateboard and would help me lock the park and put the skate equipment back into the bin. He would put a helmet on and ask me, Do I look cool dude? I would reply to him that I thought he was the coolest.

Larry would also come in to my friend’s classroom during lunch and instantly engage in conversation. He was wonderful to talk too because he could carry on the greatest of conversations about any topic. He would then light the room up with his incredible smile and proceed to make us laugh. Words cannot speak about the level of respect that Larry held for people, which was far greater than most students. His kindness was beyond and his friendly and candid reactions were priceless.

Larry, you will forever be the coolest and may you bring the best out in heaven as you certainly moved us here on Earth.

To the friends and family of our beloved student, Larry -
I worked at Le Conte Middle School while Larry was here and he definitely had a strong impact on all of us! I didn't have the chance to teach him but he always came by and said hello and asked how I was. His bright smile and infectious laugh made us all happier. Wherever he went, Larry, made life more fun. He seemed far beyond the insignificant concerns of the usual middle school drama and was cool with everybody. He had the best attitude; we could all take a lesson from Larry. I can't picture this world without him and I am deeply sorry that you (and all of us) have to somehow face everyday without his light. Our prayers go out to you and We will miss you, Larry!!!

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your son, Larry.

I am a teacher at LeConte Middle School, and although Larry was not a student in my class, I am glad I was fortunate enough to get to know him.

It was during recess one day when I met Larry. I was idly standing in my open door, eating one of the many leftover apples I had from my students’ breakfast, when Larry came ambling around the corner and walked towards me with his friendly, disarming smile. “Good morning Mister!” he said self-confidently. “Good morning,” I said, and offered him an apple. I expected him to take the apple and head off to recess, but he didn’t. He ate his apple with me, and we struck up a conversation.

I don’t remember what we talked about that day. But I vividly remember the first impression Larry left on me. He was incredibly charismatic, humble, funny, and respectful. As someone who has worked with teenagers for over fifteen years, I can tell you that these are not necessarily common characteristics.

As the school year went by, Larry would stop by my room from time to time to visit—sometimes during recess, sometimes quickly before or after school. Oftentimes, during recess, Larry would spend time with myself and the three or four other teachers with whom I shared my break, and he would never fail to charm every adult in the room with his wit and down-to-earth personality. And he was just as friendly with his peers: occasionally there would be students in my room during recess, and Larry would come in and introduce himself, always looking to make a new friend. Again, Larry’s traits were rare—most students would be too intimidated to converse with a group of teachers or walk up to their peers and offer a hand of friendship—but not Larry. He was genuine. 

It is a terrible loss for the world when someone as special as Larry leaves so early. I know I’m a better person for the brief time I spent with him—indeed he reminded me, through his actions, to keep things in perspective and to always see the good in people—and I’ll miss him terribly.

LARRY & RENETTE I AM SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THIS HAPPENED UNTIL I WENT ON FACEBOOK WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS HOW SHOCKED I AM 2 HEAR THIS NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS WOULD I HAVE THOUGHT SOMETHING LIKE THIS WOULD EVER HAPPENED 2 U GUYS. MY HEART FELT CONDOLENCES GO OUT 2 U & TO YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY THROUGH THIS DIFFICULT TIME. MAY U ALL FIND PEACE THROUGH ALL OF THIS.
