

Lee Edwin Howard, 75, of Hemet, California went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at 6:17 p.m. at Kaiser Permanente - Riverside Medical Center. He was born Sunday, September 15, 1940, and was one of 7 sons and 3 daughters of the late Charles and Ola Carter Howard. He was married to the love of his life, Deanna Bengson Howard, for over 50 years who he met at Ft. Huachuca, AZ in January 1964. Lee was a member of the US Army during the Vietnam War serving in Saigon and received the Good Conduct Metal. He had a passion for growing and canning tomatoes. He and his wife Deanna, along with his brother Lary, worked together with canning, making salsa and canned tomatoes. Lee also loved growing and pruning roses. He loved country western music and loved having Deanna read to him in the evenings. He was an excellent "fix-it" man around the house. He considered his happy place his home, as there was so much to do and enjoy. Lee enjoyed " Me TV " and watching reruns of 60's and 70's TV shows. His wife described him as being caring, compassionate, charismatic, passionate and loving. He had a great love for his parents and family members. His favorite Bible verse was Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (NKJV). Burial will be graveside at Riverside National Cemetery, March 16th at 11:45 am.
