Leon New

Born Sunday, November 20, 1921 in Rutland, Vermont. He was the husband of Lois m New and they were married for over 60 years. He loved to go camping and fishing and took the entire family when the kids were young. A special place they would visit was Kern River. He was a member of the Elks 2881, Ocean Shores in Washington. He enjoyed puzzles and electronic games. Gardening was a wonderful pastime during his retirement years and he planted what ever Lois told him to plant. He loved watching all sports including football and golf. Also, the Nature Channel always captured his interest and imagination. When there was an issue that came up he was known by the family to say " Careful " " Careful " . He loved nuts of all kinds and most favorite was cashews. His family describes him as honorable, sweet, loving, funny with a dry wit.

He was employed by Hughes / Northrup for over 34 years. Survived are his wife Lois M New, son Robert Sampson, daughters Linda L Nipp and Diane S May-Orillion. Brothers Fed New, John New. Preceded in death are his brothers Robert New and Ernie New, Sister Florence Albright. There are 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

A Funeral service will be at 1:15 PM on Friday February 18th at Riverside National Cemetery located at 22495 Van Buren Blvd. Riverside, California 92518 with the Pastor Ron Beaver officiating. Interment will be in Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA.
