1959. She later became the big sister to her only brother David Madzelonka.
In her youth the family decided to move to Springdale, Ohio, which is very close to Cincinnati.
There she continued her education at Princeton High School, where she excelled and graduated early. For
fun She would often be found on weekends roller skating or disco dancing.
Shortly after graduation, she went to work for the same employer as her Dad at Deluxe Check Printers,
where she worked in the administrative oices.
She was still working for Deluxe Check Printers when she met Paul Bartels, and 6 months later they were
married on September, 20th 1980.
Linda and Paul lived together for a short time before becoming permanent residents of Fairfield, Ohio.
They bought a house there, where they began their family, having their first child Amanda on November
24th, 1981. Next came their 2nd daughter Laura born on March, 27th, 1985.
Linda’s parents would later move to Hemet, CA and Linda & Paul eventually decided to follow them. They
sold their house in Fairfield and embarked on a cross country journey in a motorhome, with their 2 girls in
tow. Once they arrived in California, they began to look for a house, eventually settling close to Linda’s
parents, in the neighboring city of San Jacinto, CA.
While Mandy & Laura were growing up, Linda was always active in all their interests & extracurriculars,
including Girl Scouts, Dance, Theatre/drama, Choir, & Band.
In late1999, Linda and Paul found out that they were to become parents again and their 3rd daughter
Rachel was born on July 20th, 2000. Rachel was the only one of their 3 daughters to be born in California.
Linda found work with Bassett and Associates Realtors of Hemet, before going into Insurance Sales for
State Farm with Agents, Val Tichy-Drummer in Hemet, then Lynne Dattilo’s oice in Riverside for 20+
years, and briefly with Marcos Celis after Lynne’s retirement. In her professional life she was always the
go to person, who seemed to have all the answers and to whom many a co-worker relied on and confided
in.
She was also active with many side hustles selling products successfully with companies like Avon,
Home Interiors, Celebrating Home, & Pampered Chef.
Linda was the true epitome of a super Mom who did it all and still managed to care for her whole family,
she also cared for her Mom Betty and Dad Eugene before they passed in 2006, and 2016 respectively.
She was a great cook, an interior/floral designer, a crafter, a reader, and a dear friend to anyone who
needed a shoulder to lean on.
She was truly the center of the Bartels family, maintaining both her professional career and her life at
home. She was the best Mom any daughter could ever ask for and the best wife Paul could have ever
dreamed of.
She was our support, our sunshine, our super-mom and she be will dearly missed, yet forever remain in
our hearts!
