Lois E Athey

Lois Elaine Athey of Sun City, California, was 83 years of age when she suddenly entered eternity on Tuesday, December 27, 2011. She entered life on Saturday, July 28, 1928, in LaSalle, Illinois, as the daughter of the late Paul and Sadie Kirsteatter. Lois was a 1946 graduate of LaSalle-Peru Township High School in LaSalle, Illinois.

A Sun City resident since 1992, Lois has been very active in local organizations, resulting in making many close friends. Her activities included T.O.P.S., Illinois Club, Friendship Club, Travel Club, The Red Hat Society (now called The Purple Dolls), The Lunch Bunch and many more. Lois served as President and Vice President of several of these groups.

Lois was preceded in death on August 7, 2011, by her husband of 63 years, Edward Athey. We feel that she actually died of a broken heart, she missed Ed so much.

Lois is survived by two sons, Edward Athey of Santa Ana, CA and Paul Athey of Eureka, NV, one daughter, Patricia Gray of Sun City, CA, as well as two brothers, L.J. Kirsteatter of Peru, IL and Lynn Kirsteatter of Conover, WI.
