Lois Mae Miller was peacefully welcomed into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at the age of 86. She was born July 24, 1930, in Beatrice, NE to Albert and Grace Kuhn. As a little girl, she grew up attending the same church as Kenney Miller, where his father was the Pastor. On September 2, 1951, Kenney's father married them in that same church located in Beatrice, Nebraska. In 1956, they visited California and loved it so much they moved their young family to Santa Monica and then Culver City.
Lois was an active member of Ladera Church of the Brethren in the Ladera Heights area of West Los Angeles for more than 30 years. She was on the church board as treasurer for most of those years. For 15 years she loved working as the Payroll Supervisor for Quotron Systems. Lois was a member of TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) for over 40 years and had many dear friends there. TOPS is a group that focuses on nutrition, exercise, and healthy life styles.
In 1989 Lois and Kenney moved to Hemet and started attending the Cornerstone Church shortly thereafter. Lois truly enjoyed her daily walks with Kenney, her beloved husband of 65 years, in the grapefruit orchard adjacent to their home. She loved flowers and spent many hours gardening in her beautiful backyard. Lois also loved camping, hiking and visiting with friends. After retiring, she and Kenney had many magnificent trips and travelled to all 48 contiguous states in their motorhome. Some of her most memorable trips were experienced with Kenney's sisters (Vi and Pearl) and their husbands.
Lois is survived by her devoted husband, Kenney Miller; daughter, Diane Krall, her husband Nick and his children and grandchildren; sons, Steven Miller and David Miller; and granddaughter, Chloe Miller. She is also survived by her brother Eugene Kuhn, of Columbus, OH, and her nephews Lewis, Douglas and Leland Miller of CA.
Lois was a sweet, loving, kind-hearted, Christian woman who has left a fine example of how to live by her words and her actions. Now she can rest in peace. She has now come to the time for which she lived. This is not the end, but the beginning. Our comfort lies in the truth...."Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them".
Lois touched many lives and will be truly missed by all those who were privileged to know her and who loved her.
Services will be held at the Miller-Jones Mortuary on Wednesday, December 14.
