

Marjorie Ann Bower, 99, passed away in her sleep Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Hemet, CA. Marjorie was born February 1, 1926, the daughter of Charles and Louise (Jordan) Tuel on a farm near Coon Rapids, IA. After graduating high school in 1944 she moved to Des Moines, IA where she attended the Capital City Commercial College and worked as a bookkeeper for the Des Moines Register & Tribune.
When WWII ended and her future husband returned from the Army, Marjorie returned to Coon Rapids where she married Donald R. Jensen on September 15, 1946. They made their home on the Jensen family farm south of Coon Rapids and had two children, Joe and Jackie.
In 1956 the family moved to Mesa, AZ where Marjorie started working in the Mesa Public School’s cafeteria system, first as a cook’s assistant and later as a cafeteria manager.
After the death of Donald Jensen in 1968, she married Maurice S. Bower on March 19, 1970. They lived in Mesa until retirement when they moved to Forest Lakes, AZ and built a house. After Maurice Bower passed in 1992, Marjorie remained in Forest Lakes until 2015 when she moved to the Majestic Rim in Payson, AZ. Here she enjoyed her friends and the many activities. In September 2024 Marjorie moved to Hemet, CA to be near her daughter.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and her son, Joe. She is survived by her daughter, Jackie and granddaughter, Lori.
Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Mesa, AZ.
