My son Mark was born at Artesia Hospital in Artesia, CA on April 28, 1958. He was raised in Long Beach, CA and lived there until 1986. He was raised in our home on Wardlow Road in Northeast Long Beach. He went to Cubberly elementary.
I remember the day that his brother, Steven, was brought home after birth. Mark was so anxious to see his new baby brother that he ran home from Cubberly to home to see Steven, all breathless but so excited to see Steven.
Mark started playing baseball in the little league and then even worked with little league when he was older. Sports were always very important to him.
Mark was raised by Christian parents and was in church services several times a week. When he was little I thought he would be a preacher when he was grown. He would swing on the swingset and sing Christian songs with all his might. Also, he would preach to his little sister Becky and tell her she must accept Jesus so she would go to be with Jesus and be saved from hell. Her little eyes would look so wide and serious.
In 1975 Mark graduated with honors from Millikan High School.
Mark did have chronic asthma through his childhood and into his mid twenties. This hindered him from being strong physically, but he had a desire to be in sales. He did sales through his life and was very good in sales.
In 1986 Mark moved to Texas and lived there until 2000. He married and a son was born. His son is Joshua. Unfortunately, due to Mark's bipolar condition, his marriage ended and Joshua was raised by his mother, Susan. Mark loved Joshua but didn't have a normal time which and father and son should have.
Mark returned to California in 1995.He wanted to be near me. I had moved to Banning for my retirement so Mark came to the same area. Mark always loved his family. In 2002 I moved to Hemet and mark also moved to be nearby.
Mark passed away on Monday, September 2, 2013. I know without a doubt that Mark is now in complete happiness with his Lord Jesus. No more worries, completely healed with a brand new body and mind. He is in his new home in heaven. Praises to our Lord and King, Christ Jesus.
