Mary Knight

Born November 19, 1926 in Mineral Wells, Texas, she was the daughter of Olin W. Stephens and Mamie Simmons Stephens. She was married for 40 years to Richard Grainger, Sr. who passed away in 1984.

She was a homemaker for many years and worked at J.C. Penney where she retired after 30 years of service. Faith and family were the most important things in her life. She spent many years teaching Sunday School classes and singing in her church. She most recently was an active member of Faith Tabernacle Church in San Jacinto.

She is survived by her children, Cheryl Moore of Temple, Texas; Richard E. Grainger, Jr. of Menifee, CA; Donald R. Grainger of Orange, CA; Merrie Hawkinson of Loma Linda, CA; Janine Kahn of Redlands, CA; and her sister, Billie Dykstra of Sun City, CA. She has 13 beautiful grandchildren and 8 even more beautiful great grandchildren all of whom she loved very much.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 23, at 9:00 a.m. at Miller-Jones Mortuary located at 1501 W. Florida Ave., Hemet. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 22, at Miller-Jones Mortuary. Interment will be in Loma Vista Memorial Park, Fullerton, CA.
