Maureen S. Christopher (formerly McIntyre McCue), 71, passed away Tuesday March 19th, 2013 at the Hemet Valley Medical Center. A graduate of Hemet Union High School, she grew up in Hemet Valley and recently moved back to care for her parents. Her original goal in life was to become a nurse, but was rejected due to her childhood polio. She then dedicated her life to ministry and counseling, serving in that capacity through a number of organizations and churches, leading seminars as a teaching consultant and providing spiritual guidance as an interfaith chaplain. She realized her life-long dream of becoming a nurse later in life and continued to provide holistic health counseling as part of her health care treatment regimen.
She is survived by her three children: Craig McCue of Des Moines, IA, James McCue and Cynthia McCain, both residing in Hemet, and by her grand-children: Christian Haas, Allie McCue, Heather McCue, Hannah McCue and Taylor McCain. She was preceded in death by her father, Merlyn L. McIntyre. Her surviving family, including her mother, Eleanor McIntyre, and her brothers Mike and Marshall McIntyre, will all miss her greatly.
Her body has been donated to USC Medical Center, so there will be no viewing. Services will be held Wednesday, April 3rd at 5:00 pm, located at Miller-Jones Mortuary 1501 W. Florida Ave., Hemet, CA 92543, with a Celebration of Life reception immediately following. In lieu of flowers, we encourage gifts to be sent to the Polio Foundation (http://www. Poliofoundation.org), or to the health care charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made at http://www.miller-jones.com/ (search for Maureen Christopher's memorial page).
