Chief Master Sargeant - Max Garrett Hill, born Nov 12, 1927, went home to be with Jesus on Jan 25, 2026 at the age of 98. Max was preceded in death by his wife Imogene Butler Hill, his parents Lawrence and Mary Hill, sister Betty Jean (Hill) Christy and brother Donald Hill.
Max was born in Santa Ana, California and enlisted in the Air Force after graduating from Santa Ana High School. Max served in the Korean War, then went on to make a career in the military. Max met Imogene at Tinker Air Force Base and were married on Aug 23, 1952.
Max and Imogene relocated to Orange County, CA where they raised five children; Raymond (deceased), Bruce, Larry, Carol Gutierrez and Sarah Guidi. Retirement brought them to Homeland in Riverside County where they have lived for the past 30 plus years.
Max also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at McWane Family Funeral Home, located at 350 N San Jacinto St., Hemet, CA 92543, United States. The service is scheduled for February 19, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Followed by a Graveside at Riverside National Cemetery 22495 Van Buren Blvd , Riverside CA 92518
