Michael Alan Summers

Michael Alan Summers, 66, of Lake Elsinore, CA passed away on January 4, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born to the late Jess and Joyce Summers on July 15, 1949, in Long Beach, CA and was the oldest of 5 sons. After graduating high school he attended Long Beach City College until he was drafted into the United States Army in 1969. He served in the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1971 with the rank of sergeant. After his military service he began working in the trucking industry until he was forced to retire due to his illness in May 2014. He and his wife Karen married on July 23, 1988. He enjoyed spending time with his family, serving as an elder in his church, traveling, and sports. He is survived by his wife of 27 years Karen; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Shannon Summers of Litchfield Park, AZ; son Jeremy Summers of Queen Creek, AZ; daughter and son-in-law Candace and Tim Rodriquez of Concho, AZ; daughter and son-in-law Shanna and James Patton of Lake Elsinore, CA; daughter and son-in-law Tracy and Kevin Bowen of Redding, CA. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and a second great-grandchild due in February. He is also survived by his brothers Gary, Greg, Dennis and Ron Summers.
