

Alabama. The Marshall's were members of Zion Hill Baptist Church where the Reverend Godwin
was pastor. The family lived on 7th avenue in Birmingham, Alabama. In 1944 Morris Jr. and
his siblings attended Lincoln Elementary School to where they walked together daily. Morris Jr.
graduated from Lincoln in 1952 and went on to Parker High School. While attending Parker the
family moved to West Princeton. First Baptist West Princeton under Reverend Jackson became
our church home.
At First Baptist Church, Morris Jr. joined the church sang in the choir, attended secondary school
and participated in church activities. Community activities were enjoyed by Morris Jr. and friends
often. Morris Jr. went to the army to serve his country in 1958 where he participated in the medics.
After serving his country Morris Jr. was returned to Birmingham, Alabama where he started
a work ethic for himself. He became a barber and beautician. Shortly after that he moved to
Brooklyn, New York where he opened his own barber and beauty shop.
Morris Jr. met his soon to be wife Faye Clemons Roane in 1961. They married April 13, 1963.
Of this union came their first born son Morris Marshall lll (Sport) on May 23, 1963. In 1972
his second child was born Faye Michele Marshall (Koko). Mr. Marshall also has another child
named Morrisa Rice Marshall born March 12, 1974. Morris Jr./ and Faye moved to California in
September 1972. Morris Jr. then attended Los Angeles trade Tech college in 1973 were he earned
his master barber license. In 1974 he opened his hair salon in Los Angeles, California on 42nd
street and Vermont where he became God father to many children in the neighborhood and was
loved by all.
In 1975 Morris Jr. and Faye bought their first home in Los Angeles, California on 62nd and West
Blvd, where they raised their children and a host of neighborhood children. In 1980 the marriage
between Morris Jr. and Faye ended. Soon after Morris Jr. met and married Betty Faye Flax in
1982 and divorced in 1984. Morris Jr. extended his life and shared his love with Dedra Anderson
(Dede), Verna Faye Hardgraves, Verna Howell, Catherine Simmons, Griselda Harris (Meme)
and a host of stepchildren. In 2000 Morris Jr. moved to Perris, California with his sister Willie Lee
Marshall, In 2001 Morris met Loraine Ruckett. They shared their lives and attended First Baptist
Church of Perris, were he joined and turned his life over to Christ, he was a part of the musical
team and love to sing in the choir. Mr. Marshall lived and looked forward to sharing his time with
the church.
Morris Jr. then spent the last couple of months home with his family, whom he loved so much.
The Lord called Morris Marshall Jr. home on October 4, 2015. He leaves to cherish his love and
memories to his parents; Morris Marshall Sr. and Augusta Lee Marshall who proceeded him in
death. Also, preceding him in death, his uncle Franklin Marshall and aunt Hargie Lee Marshall,
his brother; Clarence Marshall, his sister; Arthenia Wilkerson. Living sisters; Willie Lee Marshall
and Augusta Lee Marshall Byers. Three children; Morris Marshall lll, Faye Michele MarshallClark, (Son in law) Adair Clark, Morrisa Rice Marshall and children. Grandchildren; oldest
being Renaughta Marshall, Maurice Marshall, Marquell Marshall, Faye Charmae (Pebbles),
John Henry Simth lll, Kalani J. Clark, Tracy Marshall. Nieces and nephews; Oldest Alfie V.
Savage, Terrance T. Savage, Renthenia Quinine Wilkerson, Rennis Wilkerson Jr., Clylencia
Byers, Augusta Lyna Byers (RIP), Shauntrai Byers, Shaunai Byers, Little Frank (RIP) and a host
of other nieces and nephews, cousins, family & friends.
