

Norma Jean Hitchcock stepped through heaven's door on September 8th, 2012 at age 84. Her life was dedicated to serving others; she worked as a registered nurse at Hemet Valley Hospital for over 35 years. She was honored as an exceptional nurse and employee. It was there that she helped many new lives come into the world at the labor and delivery department, and it was there that she passed from this world into the next.
Norma was born in Warren Ohio in April of 1928. During her years in Ohio, she was captain of the women's basketball team and was elected homecoming queen. She won state championship as a flutist and never lost her love for music. She graduated from nursing school in 1949 and continued in the profession throughout her life. Norma made California her home in 1962 lived in Hemet for 46 years.
Mother to 8 children and wife of Wan Doyle Hitchcock Sr. Norma's children Leilani An Kramer, Shaye Lynn Roberson, Hyla Varee Pearson, Wan Doyle Hitchcock Jr, Enola Rae Wittersheim, Dale Barkley Hitchcock and Finese Volene Child, along with 15 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren survive her. The love and devotion to her family was evident through a lifetime of personal sacrifice for others. Her determination and quiet strength will live in our hearts forever.
