

Oscar Antonio Medrano was born on January 4, 1934 in San Manuel, Cuba. He was married to his first and only sweetheart, Maria, on August 4, 1957 in the Bronx, New York. They met at 17 and were married four years later and would have celebrated 61 years together in August. He was a loving father to his three children Maria, Oscar Jr. and Jose. He was a quiet, gentle, loving and kind man who’s tender spirit exemplified the grace of his loving Savior. He worked a myriad of occupations before finally becoming a successful jewelry store owner for 30 years. He loved gardening, with many admirers stopping and commenting on his roses and beautifully landscaped yard. He was a kind man who opened his home to many in need. He sponsored, housed and financially supported many Cuban families, allowing them a new chance at life in the US.Both he and Maria committed their lives to Christ and were incredibly active in their church, counseling, teaching, mentoring and serving tirelessly. He was a loving husband, father, son, and brother (one of seven boys!) . Proud grandpa to Peter, Christina, Oscar JR, Elisabeth, Nathan, Aaron, Luke, Matthew,Hannah, and Julia. Great grand father to Eli, Evelyn, Ella, and Bruce. We will alway remember his humble, gentle, kind and loving spirit. Those that knew him will never forget him!
