Peter Nicolay, age 89 of Sun City, California entered eternal life on Saturday, April 26, 2014. Peter entered life Thursday, July 3, 1924 in Lark, North Dakota; the son of the late John Nicolay and the late Christina Nicolay. Peter was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Richard and two sisters, Johanna and Henrietta.
Peter was a 33 year resident of Sun City. His working years included stints as a high school counselor and real estate agent. He served in World War II and was wounded in Luzon in the Philippines and was awarded the Purple Heart. After the war and 13 months in the hospital he went back to the Philippines and served there as a missionary. His life's work was as a missionary helping people around the globe to find the joy that follows a testimony of the Lord.
Surviving are his loving wife, Yvonne Nicolay; brother, Donald Nicolay; 2 sisters, Kathryn Stoll and Grace Droog and 16 nieces and 13 nephews.
A funeral service with military honors will be at 1:45 PM on Thursday, May 8th in the Riverside National Cemetery located at 22495 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, California.
