

Philip Woodrow Eugene Taylor, 88, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2020, in Hemet, California. He was born on Saturday, March 26, 1932 in Maine to his parents, Linwood and Helen Taylor. He grew up on a farm with his family. After high school, Phil entered the U.S. Army and was part of the 82nd Airborne Division. Phil went on to earn his Master's Degree in Engineering. He spent over 50 years working as an engineer in the aircraft industry. Phil was a highly intelligent and well-respected man in his career. Phil was also an amazing father to his three children. After retirement, Phil reconnected with his long-time friend, Josephine "Josie" Thomas. They dated for over 20 years and Phil relocated to Hemet, California full time when he started dating Josie. In July of 2017, Phil and Josie tied the knot. Phil and Josie spent their time together travelling to Arizona and Big Bear, and camping all over. Phil also loved taking his grandchildren on camping trips at the beach and lake. Phil and Josie were active members of the Elk's Lodge as well. Phil and Josie enjoyed playing different card games at home and while camping with their Elk's Lodge friends too. In his spare time, Phil was an incredible handyman and woodworker. In fact, Phil built tons of custom items for his family such as wagons and rocking horses for all the grandkids. He was very skilled in architecture and building things from the ground up. Phil was a more quiet and reserved man, but he had the kindest soul. He would help anyone in need and would give the shirt off his back if someone needed it. Phil was a remarkable man and his family will forever miss him. He was an amazing husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Linwood and Helen Taylor, and his sisters, Phyllis and Peggy. Phil is survived by his wife, Josie Thomas-Taylor, his children, Jay (Val) Taylor, Brook (Kathleen) Taylor, and Teresa (Dennis) Green, his sister, Mary, his stepdaughters, Melody Dalthorp, and Tina Robbins, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
